Our company vision is “Unlock Humankind’s Limitation” and our mission is to “power to the people.” Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and capable Operations and Credit Team Leader to support our business growth Job PurposeThe Operations & Credit Team Leader – PAYGO will be responsible for driving the growth, expansion, execution, and performance of WASSHA’s PAYGO business across all operating countries. The role will ensure sustainable business growth while maintaining a healthy credit portfolio through strong operational controls, portfolio management, and risk mitigation strategies. The position will work closely with country teams to improve customer acquisition, portfolio quality, repayment performance, and operational efficiency to achieve WASSHA’s PAYGO objectives. Key

Duties and Responsibilities

Managerial

Responsibilities

Implement WASSHA’s vision, mission, and values within PAYGO operations across all countries. Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to country PAYGO teams. Coordinate PAYGO activities across operating countries to ensure alignment with company objectives. Monitor PAYGO performance and provide timely reports and recommendations to management. Support country teams in achieving PAYGO growth and portfolio targets. Facilitate knowledge sharing and implementation of best practices across countries. Identify operational gaps and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Product, Customer Support, and Information Technology teams to ensure smooth execution of PAYGO activities. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.Functional Responsibilities:Business Growth & PAYGO Expansion Develop and implement PAYGO growth strategies across WASSHA operating countries. Support the launch and scaling of new PAYGO products and initiatives. Identify new market opportunities and customer segments for PAYGO expansion. Monitor customer acquisition and retention performance. Work with country teams to achieve PAYGO sales and activation targets. Analyze market trends and competitor activities to improve business performance. Drive initiatives aimed at increasing PAYGO adoption and customer satisfaction. Develop and monitor regional PAYGO dashboards and KPIs.Portfolio Quality & Credit Performance Monitor the quality and performance of the PAYGO portfolio across all operating countries. Track and improve key portfolio indicators including Portfolio at Risk (PAR), default rates, collection efficiency, and recovery rates. Develop and implement PAYGO credit policies and risk management frameworks. Monitor customer repayment behaviour and identify emerging risks. Lead collection and recovery initiatives to minimize portfolio losses. Coordinate repossession and recovery processes where necessary. Conduct portfolio reviews and recommend corrective actions to improve credit performance. Support provisioning and portfolio forecasting exercises. Implement fraud prevention measures and strengthen internal controls.Operational Excellence Standardize PAYGO operational processes across all countries. Monitor device activation, customer onboarding, and payment collection processes. Ensure accuracy and integrity of PAYGO data and reporting systems. Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience. Coordinate with payment partners and service providers to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications,

Skills

and Experience: Minimum level of academic and professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field. Professional

qualifications

in Credit Management, Risk Management, or Project Management will be an added advantage.Minimum level of experience required to perform effectively in the role: At least 3-5 years of experience in PAYGO, microfinance, fintech, solar energy, credit operations, or portfolio management. Experience managing multi-country operations is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in credit risk management and portfolio analytics. Experience working with PAYGO systems and digital payment platforms. CompetenciesTechnical Strong analytical and financial modelling skills. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets. Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools. Strong understanding of PAYGO systems and portfolio management. Knowledge of credit risk management and collections.Functional Business growth and expansion management. Credit and portfolio management. Data analysis and reporting. Project management skills. Stakeholder management.Behavioral Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
