Data Analyst
George, Western Cape | On-site
Turn data into decisions that make a difference.
There’s plenty of data out there. The real value comes from knowing what to do with it.
As a Data Analyst in our ARC Data team, you’ll help turn complex information into clear, useful insights that people can act on. You’ll work closely with our teams in SA, Australia and NZ, creating dashboards, answering important business questions and helping stakeholders understand what the data is really telling them.
This is a role for someone who enjoys the technical side of data but gets just as much satisfaction from seeing their work used to make better decisions.
About the role:
You’ll partner with people across the business to understand the questions they’re trying to answer, then use data to help them get there.A big part of your world will be building and continuously improving dashboards and reports in QlikSense and Looker Studio, giving teams reliable, self-service visibility of the metrics that matter. You’ll use SQL and Snowflake to extract, transform and validate data, and you’ll dive into ad hoc analysis when the business needs a deeper answer. You’ll also help us make reporting smarter and more efficient spotting opportunities to automate recurring work, improving data quality and documentation, and listening to stakeholders so that what we build remains useful rather than becoming “just another dashboard”.Along the way, you’ll collaborate with our wider AI and data science team, contributing to a broader strategic data roadmap and helping us make better use of data across the business.About you:
You’re naturally curious. When you see a number that doesn’t quite make sense, you want to know why.
You can work confidently with data, but you can also explain what you’ve found to someone who doesn’t speak SQL. You care about accuracy, ask good questions and enjoy working with stakeholders to turn an initial idea into something genuinely useful.
Requirements
Requirements and experience you will need to bring:
A degree or diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field, with around 2–4 years’ experience in data analysis, BI or reporting.Working knowledge of SQL, plus hands-on experience creating dashboards in tools such as QlikSense, Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio.Experience with Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse, together with a sound understanding of data modelling and reporting best practice.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.A collaborative approach and the confidence to communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.Experience with GCP, dbt, Python, ETL/data pipelines, statistical or predictive analytics, or insurance and financial-services data would be a bonus rather than the whole story.Because you'll be working with customer information, you'll also understand the importance of data privacy, confidentiality and responsible reporting, including POPIA requirements. Why join us?
Our purpose is about providing our world with soft landings, and data has an important part to play in making that possible. You’ll join a team where your work has a practical purpose: helping people understand performance, make informed decisions and continually improve how we work. You’ll have the opportunity to work across different parts of the business, collaborate with AI and data science colleagues, solve interesting business problems and help shape reporting solutions rather than simply maintaining what already exists. We value focus, resilience, tenacity, relationships and discipline and we’re looking for someone who brings those qualities to their work while staying curious about what could be done better.Ready to make data mean more?
If you enjoy finding the story behind the numbers and turning it into something people can use, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and come help us turn data into better decisions.
