in financial modeling, market research, and investment portfolio analysis.Job OverviewWe are looking for an Investment Analyst to join our actuarial consulting team.This is a high-impact role at the core of Zamara’s Asset Consulting practice. You will take ownership of investment analysis and reporting for a portfolio of pension fund clients — including one of Kenya’s largest institutional mandates — contribute to client meetings and trustee engagements and play a meaningful role in the team’s ESG consulting work.We are open to candidates from investment consulting, fund management, actuarial consulting, or institutional banking. What matters most is strong analytical ability, a high standard of work, and the drive to build a career in investment consulting. If you have not worked directly in pension consulting before, you will be supported to get up to speed — but you will need to hit the ground running on the analytical fundamentals.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestment Analysis & Client ReportingOwn the preparation and quality of quarterly and monthly investment reports for a portfolio of pension fund clients, including transaction-level analysis and performance attributionConduct detailed asset allocation reviews, manager performance assessments, and investment risk analysisReview and provide written commentary on alternative investment opportunities presented to pension fundsPrepare Investment Policy Statements (IPS) in line with RBA guidelines and client-specific investment objectivesDevelop market updates, thematic investment notes, and capacity-building materials for client internal teamsClient EngagementAttend Investment Committee and Board of Trustee meetings — presenting analysis clearly and confidently to trustees and senior executivesBuild professional relationships with client contacts, fund managers, and scheme administratorsLead meeting preparation including board packs, agendas, and pre-meeting briefingsManage ad hoc client requests efficiently and proactivelyESG & Thematic WorkContribute to the firm’s current ESG mandate — preparation of deliverables, attendance at project meetings, and development of ESG-related frameworksBuild internal expertise in responsible investment and sustainable finance as applied to African institutional investorsSupport business development efforts for future ESG and thematic consulting mandatesTeam ContributionReview and provide feedback on work produced by junior analystsContribute to quarterly industry reports and thought leadership publicationsChampion AI tool adoption and efficient workflows within the teamQualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field3–4 years of experience in one or more of: investment consulting, fund/asset management, actuarial consulting, institutional banking, or pension fund managementCFA Level I or above strongly preferred — or equivalent progress in CAIA, ICIFADemonstrated ability to produce high-quality investment analysis and written commentaryExperience presenting or communicating investment information to clients, boards, or senior stakeholders is an advantageKnowledge of the Kenyan pension regulatory environment (RBA framework, IPS, asset class guidelines) is a strong advantage — but not a prerequisite for the right candidateAdvanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with data tools or AI productivity platforms is a plusCompetenciesStrong analytical rigor — you can interpret data, spot what matters, and turn it into clear insightHigh attention to detail — you hold yourself to a high standard and take ownership of the quality of your workConfident communicator — comfortable discussing investment matters with trustees, executives, and fund managersClient-oriented — you anticipate needs, respond promptly, and take pride in the quality of client interactionsOrganized under pressure — able to manage multiple concurrent deliverables during busy reporting periodsIntellectually curious — you keep up with markets, regulation, and global investment trends and connect them to the Kenyan contextAmbition — you want to grow into a consulting manager role and are willing to put in the work to get thereHow to Apply Many qualified professionals miss out on getting shortlisted and interviews — not because they lack experience, but because their CV doesn’t clearly show how they fit this specific job.🎯 Want to get an interview fast?
