VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT AT ADOLESCENT GIRLS LITERACY PLUSPOSITION: HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICERLocation: ChikwawaBACKGROUNDAdolescent Girls Literacy Plus (AGLIT+) is a registered Malawian non-governmental organization established in 1996 to improve the lives of adolescents through functional literacy, education, health, livelihoods and community development programmes. Since its establishment, AGLIT+ has expanded its reach from Chikwawa District to several districts across Malawi, benefiting more than 32,000 adolescent girls and boys.With funding from the Tilitonse Foundation in partnership with Comic Relief and the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom (UK Aid), AGLIT+ is implementing the Capacity for Sustainable Growth and Action for Adolescents project. The project is aimed at strengthening AGLIT+’s institutional capacity, systems and sustainability to enhance its ability to deliver impactful, community-led programmes for adolescents. Through this support, AGLIT+ has expanded its functional literacy programme to Nsanje District while strengthening its organizational structures, partnerships and programme delivery approaches to achieve long-term impact.To support the implementation of the project and strengthen the organization's institutional capacity, AGLIT+ invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced and self-motivated individuals to fill the following positions based in Chikwawa District.At AGLIT+, we believe that people are the heart of every successful organization. We promote fairness, transparency and continuous learning because when our people succeed, our programmes succeed.The Human Resources Officer will serve as a link between management and employees, ensuring that human resource policies and practices are effectively implemented. The position will play a key role in strengthening HR systems, supporting staff development and fostering a positive workplace culture.Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the full recruitment cycle, including preparation of job advertisements, shortlisting, interviews, selection and onboarding of new employees.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with labour laws and organizational policies.
- Support performance management processes, including staff appraisals and development plans.
- Coordinate staff orientation, training and capacity-building activities.
- Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, procedures, benefits and workplace matters.
- Support the resolution of employee relations issues in a fair, timely and confidential manner.
- Assist in the review, development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures.Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a human resources role, preferably within the NGO sector.
- Good knowledge of Malawi labour laws and human resource management practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.Terms of Employment
- Duty Station: Chikwawa District
