VACANCY
DRIVER SALESMAN
National Breweries PLC invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Driver Salesman.
Purpose of the Role
• Drive company vehicles safely while delivering and selling company products to customers along assigned routes.
• Achieve sales and distribution targets while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
• Ensure accurate handling of company stock, cash, sales documentation, and deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
• Sell and promote company products to existing and potential customers.
• Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
• Deliver products accurately and on time according to assigned routes.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and address customer queries and complaints professionally.
• Verify product quantities during loading and offloading and account for all stock loaded onto the vehicle.
• Collect cash, mobile payments, cheques, or other approved forms of payment where applicable.
• Ensure accurate completion of invoices, receipts, proof of delivery, and other sales documentation.
• Reconcile daily sales, collections, and stock movements and submit required reports.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects promptly.
• Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and health and safety requirements.
• Monitor fuel consumption and ensure responsible use of company resources.
• Report stock discrepancies, losses, or damages immediately.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory audits when required.
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license appropriate for commercial vehicles.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in sales, distribution, or FMCG operations.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience in route sales and customer service will be an added advantage.
• Good geographical knowledge of assigned routes.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet set targets.
• Honest, reliable, and customer-focused.
• Ability to handle cash and company stock responsibly.
