Most technology companies have a problem.
Their product is brilliant. Their technology is deeply complex. Their product launch is coming, and they need it to pop.
And somehow, they need to make something that took twelve engineers three years to build easy to understand. Without making it look like every other technology company in their category.
Being understood is the first problem. Being remembered is the second.
That's where we come in:
Black Camel Agency helps product marketers in deep technology launch and explain their products. Mostly in AI, cybersecurity, identity, fraud, data, infrastructure, aerospace and defence.Simplifying complex technology is table stakes. Lots of agencies say they do that. The magic is making a launch or explainer that's quirky, witty, clever and unlike anything else in its category.Because there are probably fifty companies selling something remarkably similar. The job isn't just to explain why theirs is different. It's to make people remember it.We make launch films, explainers and other beautifully odd things that make complicated technology simple. And, more importantly, make it stand out.The job
Your job is simple to explain:
Find companies with something worth explaining. Find the person responsible for explaining it. Get them talking to us.We don't chase lots of small deals. Our clients are large enterprise tech companies with big product marketing teams, and when one comes on board they tend to stay and spend for years. Fewer accounts, bigger wins, longer cycles. Expect several stakeholders, procurement, vendor onboarding and the occasional security questionnaire. We've built our own signal engine. It uses AI to watch our target accounts for product launches, new product pages, funding rounds, repositionings, conference slots and new VPs of product marketing, and it flags when a company is likely to need us.Your job is to decide which signals matter, work out who owns the problem, and get to them while it's still live. You'll use the phone, LinkedIn, email, AI, personalised gifting and whatever else you can think of to get in front of the right people. And once you open an opportunity, you don't throw it over the wall to an account executive. You help close the deal.
At first, our founder will sit beside you through the whole thing: discovery, brief, pitch, concepts and close. He'll do more of the talking at first, then less and less until you're running the deals yourself.
Our presales process is unusually strong:
After the discovery call, we go deep. We research the category, the technology and the competition: what everyone else is saying, how they're saying it, and every trope and cliché we need to stay well away from.We hand all of that over with a brief we've written for them. So the brief isn't guesswork. It's built on real insight. They sign off the brief.
Then we pitch them five creative concepts. They pick one. We script it and storyboard it.All of this happens before there's a contract, a statement of work or a cent paid.Pre-production is the longest part of making a video, and it's where the real magic happens. We don't charge for it.By the time we talk money, they're not buying a sales pitch. They're buying something they helped create.Between half and three quarters of the prospects who go through it become clients. And you'll learn how to sell it.
This isn't an outbound agency job:
If you're currently at an outbound agency, you probably know the model. You get put onto a client. You hammer their list. You book meetings. A few months later, you're moved onto another client. The relationship you built disappears with you. That's not this.
When you land an account here, you stay with it. Our studio team runs the projects and looks after the people we’re working with day to day.Once we’ve delivered one amazing piece of work, that’s your cue. You build the account development plan and go hard on it. Find the other product teams, the other PMMs, the other launches coming down the line, and spread across the business like tentacles. Our clients have big product marketing teams, lots of products and a steady stream of launches. One great film is the way in. What you do next is where the real growth is.You’re not renting yourself to somebody else’s sales operation. You’re building part of ours. What you get:
R30,000 to R40,000 a month basic plus commission, on new accounts and on new business you open inside the accounts we already have.
Plus:
LinkedIn sales navigatorHubSpotYour own outbound email infrastructureOur signal engine and target account listPaid ClaudePlenty of room to experimentDirect access to the founderRemote workingAnd, rather unusually, the chance to learn how to sell creative work rather than another piece of software nobody lovesThere isn't a 47-page sales playbook.
We've got signal tracking, cold email and LinkedIn ads running, and plenty we haven't tried yet. You'll work out the next moves with Regan. But the job is getting to people, not building systems.
If you discover something that works, we'll do more of it.
One last thing:
Don't send us a cover letter explaining that you're a "results-driven self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment."
Please.
Instead:
Find a real technology company with something happening right now. A launch, a new product page, a funding round, a new VP.
Go to Blackcamel.agency and find a piece of our work you think they should see.
Then tell us, in fifteen lines or fewer:
What you spotted. Who should see it. The LinkedIn message you'd send them.
That's your application.
Because that's the job.
Spot the moment. Find the person. Get their attention.
If you can do that, we should talk.

Your CV could say:
Tech recruitment, particularly client side, selling into the UK or US.Outbound sales, especially if you've been selling into international markets.Media, events or sponsorship, where you sold marketing budgets rather than commodities.SaaS sales into the UK, Europe or US.Agency or consultancy new business, selling a service rather than a product.A go-to-market team, as long as you were the one making calls and closing deals, not running the tools.First or early sales hire at a startup, where you owned the number because nobody else did.We want at least 12 months of outbound experience.
But the number of years matters less than where and how you've sold.
We care that:
You've owned a revenue number, not just an activity target, and you know what it feels like when you miss it.You take action. Tools and research matter, but if you spend more time tweaking searches and sequences than talking to people, this isn't the job. You've sold something that takes weeks or months, not five minutes. You've run a deal with several stakeholders and got it through procurement. You've spoken to senior people: marketing directors, VPs, founders. You can look at a technology company's website and work out what the hell they actually do.You can look at a signal and tell whether it's a real opportunity or noise. You've sold into the UK, Europe or US.You're happy to take calls into the evening, regularly until 8pm SA time, when US prospects need it.You've worked remotely and know how to manage your own pipeline. You don't need to have closed a deal exactly like ours before.
We can teach you that part.
We can't easily teach curiosity, resourcefulness or the instinct to pick up the phone when everyone else is sending another LinkedIn message.
