Responsible for supporting premium management activities, processing and reconciling insurance premiums, maintaining accurate policy and financial records, following up on outstanding premiums, preparing reports, and ensuring transactions comply with company policies and procedures. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field. The position is based in Nairobi and requires on-site work.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocating credits received in the bank to respective policies
- Facilitating receipting of all premium booked and giving feed back to the clients on all queries raised.
- Collecting of premiums due on the debit dates by sending direct debits instructions to the bank, following up with the bank on all unpaid instructions, and ensuring non -paying DDI are communicated to the client.
- Maintaining cordial relationship with the banks involved in DDI collections by negotiating an agreeable charge with the bank to ensure charges are favourable to both clients and the company (ICEA Lion).
- Arranging and guiding sectional meetings and report the minutes to the line manager on issues discussed separating urgent from important issues.
- Reviewing internal processes, and pursue improvement with ICT team on the best practice to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of operation processes.
- Reporting any challenges or risks to the operational efficiency experienced in the dept.
- Attending meetings with our partners (banks, sponsors, salesforce) or peers in the industry.
- Training new staff and other internal clients (sales team) and HR organised trainings on the operation processes to pass the knowledge to incoming staff and interested parties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in any field from a reputable university.
- Progression towards a professional qualification(s) in insurance e.g. ACII, FCII or equivalent, would be an added advantage
Experience
- At least one (1) years’ post qualification experience in Life insurance Company
