Accountant preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and processing financial transactions, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPAK and at least three cumulative years experience in a comparable position, in a financial services environment, on-site role.
Purpose of the Job
- This position is responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and maintaining effective financial controls to support the achievement of the Companys Strategic Objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger, investigate and reconcile any noted variances.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in the ERP system.
- Process journal entries and ensure proper account coding.
- Process bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
- Verify supplier invoices and process payments.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Maintain the fixed assets register.
- Coordinate provision of information required by internal and external auditors.
- Prepare and submit statutory returns and ensure compliance with all KRA requirements.
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and any management performance reports as may be required.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

- Maintenance and submission of accurate, timely and relevant financial reports.
- Compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Maintenance of accurate accounting records and financial data.
- Enforce internal controls and compliance with the Finance and Treasury policies.
- Facilitate internal and external audit and assist in resolution of audit findings.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration and Management from a recognized university.
- Must have at least three (3) cumulative years experience in a comparable position from a reputable organization.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK) and registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
- Must have proven knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards relevant to financial institutions.
- Must have good communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and be a good team player.
