VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT@ POSITION: Location: BlantyreOVERVIEW Puma Energy Malawi Limited is an associate company of Puma Energy Group, with its headquarters in Switzerland and is jointly owned by Press Corporation Plc and Puma Energy. It operates as an oil marketing company in Malawi and its activities in the fuels downstream sector include the supply, storage and transportation of petroleum products.We are currently hiring for the position of Transport Analyst (Blantyre)Purpose of the position:The Transport Analyst is responsible for route and network planning, cost and efficiency optimization, regulatory compliance, stakeholder management. and Bulk Vehicle Operator (BVO) welfare. The role also involves analysing data and logistics systems to improve the movement of goods, vehicles, and people, while ensuring all operations meet Puma Energy Malawis standards, local legislation, and the latest Puma HSSE requirements.Functions:Champion HSSE, compliance, and operational safety: Ensure all depot and transport activities comply with PUMA HSSE policies, operating procedures, SAPS Manual, Transport Manual, and applicable legal requirements. Promote a strong safety culture with the goal of zero incidents, fatalities, and product contamination. Conduct driver briefings and debriefings, verify documentation, complete journey management plans, perform random truck checks, and ensure controls such as truck sealing, fuel-loss prevention, and panic-alarm response are consistently followed.Drive transport performance and operational excellence: Monitor transport plans and Pls, conduct regular performance reviews, and coach BVOs and transporters to improve efficiency, service delivery, HSSE performance, and customer satisfaction. Lead weekly transport meetings, communicate performance gaps and violations, and implement corrective actions or consequences where required.Manage training and driver safety: Ensure BVOs and relevant personnel complete mandatory training on time, including SAPS, firefighting, First Aid. work permits, and incident investigation. Use VMS/telematics data to monitor driver behaviour, identify risks such as speeding, harsh braking, harsh acceleration, and excessive idling, and provide timely feedback and corrective action.Maintain transport visibility, records, and reporting: Monitor trucks and journeys to ensure route adherence, visibility, and timely delivery. Keep transport KPls and truck records accurate and up to date, analyse transporter losses, and report incidents, violations, deviations, and performance trends to management.Manage transporters, contracts, and administration: Work closely with contracted transporters to ensure service quality, compliance, and performance.Follow up on journey plans across primary and secondary transport, address VMS violations, manage transport contracts, and review monthly transport invoices to ensure accurate and timely processing.Education and ExperienceThe candidate should have the following education and experience:A Degree in Logistics and transport or any related field from a recognised institution.Proven staff management skills are essentialAbility to use basic computer packages, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Outlook.Must be able to handle a busy customer facing environment and manage external stakeholdersInterested candidates should send their application package (CV, copies of certificates, 3 traceable referees) through e-mail to malawirecruitment@pumaenergy.com not later than close of business on Tuesday, 1st September 2026.The HR Business Partner,Puma Energy Malawi,2nd Floor Standard Bank building,P.O Box 469,BLANTYRE.Female applicants are encouraged to apply
