Job Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the telephone switchboard to answer, screen, and direct incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls effectively and professionally.
- Ensure all inquiries are promptly and accurately resolved or routed to the appropriate department or personnel.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of operational process to provide accurate information to callers.
- Log and track calls, when necessary, and provide status updates as required.
- Assist in emergency communications and prioritize urgent or critical calls in accordance with established escalation protocols.
- Update and maintain the directory database regularly to ensure accurate and efficient call routing.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional and secure manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service and clear communication when responding to caller inquiries, requests, or complaints.
- Follow all operational procedures for the proper use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of switchboard equipment.
- Manage and prioritize high call volumes while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Minimum Requirements Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience operating a telephone switchboard or working in a customer service role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally manage high call volumes.
- Strong problem solving and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple incoming calls and prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to maintain a professional and calm demeanor under pressure and during high stress situations.
- Basic proficiency in telecommunications equipment and office related technology.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce
- A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. Valid country driver’s license. and passport.
- Experience operating telecommunications systems for a government or military organization.
- Knowledge of telecommunications troubleshooting and telephone system maintenance.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize high call volumes.
