Job overview We are looking for a creative, passionate Social Media Content Creator and Videographer to join our dog sanctuary in Cape Town. In this role, you will be the voice and eyes of our rescue dogs, capturing their daily lives and editing high-engagement content to drive adoptions, donations, and community awareness. Key responsibilities Content capture: Take high-quality photos and videos of daily sanctuary life.Mobile / video editing: Turn raw footage into engaging short-form videos (TikToks, Reels, Shorts) using mobile apps.Event coverage: Attend off-site adoption days, markets, and fundraising events to capture live content and post real-time updates.Copywriting: Craft heartwarming, urgent, or funny captions and adoption bios for the dogs.Community engagement: Manage daily interactions by replying to comments and direct messages.Requirements and skills: Social media expertise: Proven track record of managing and growing social media accounts, with a portfolio showcasing high-performing Reels, TikToks, and posts.Multimedia production: Advanced skills in smartphone and DSLR photography, video editing tools (CapCut, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut), and graphic design (Canva or Adobe Express).Platform mastery: Deep understanding of current social trends, audio tracks, and algorithmic changes across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.Trend savvy: Quick to apply trending audio, formats, and transitions to maximize reach.Transport and flexibility: Must have a valid South African driver's license, reliable transport, and the willingness to work flexible hours for weekend events.Animal comfort: Absolute ease and patience working around dogs of all sizes, breeds, and behavioral histories.Physical agility: Ability to shoot dynamic, eye-level content outdoors in active, unpredictable animal environments.Shelter experience : Previous experience working or volunteering within an animal shelter, rescue organization, or veterinary environment is highly advantageous.How to apply To apply, please email your CV to [[gemprojectsanctuary@gmail.com]] with the subject line "Social Media Content Creator".
