Job description
The Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA), which operates as a non-statutory, self-regulatory body, responsible for ensuring compliance by members with the relevant and applicable Codes in respect of broadcasting content on television, radio and online, invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the following position:
Job title: Registrar – full-timeSalary: R 600 000 – R 650 000 per year, to be fixed commensurate with qualifications and experience.Key responsibilities:
Report directly to the Chairperson of the BCCSAManage the administration of the office of the BCCSA under the supervision of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the BCCSA.Provide high level administrative and organisational support to the Commission.Coordinate meetings, hearings and adjudicative processes in line with the Codes of Conduct, Procedure and Constitution of the BCCSA.Direct and manage complaints received from the public in accordance with the BCCSA Procedure.Draft, review, and manage official correspondence, reports and records.Liaise with stakeholders, including broadcasters, legal representatives and the public, with appropriate professionalism and due discretion.Attributes:
Integrity, professionalism and sound judgment.Ability to operate effectively in a high pressure environment.Commitment to the values of transparency, accountability and fairness.A meaningful appreciation of the right to freedom of expression as enshrined in the Constitution of South Africa, 1996.Requirements:
