Job description

Description Our client, a multinational engineering and construction organisation, is seeking a highly capable Site Engineer to oversee on‑site execution, coordination, and technical supervision of major infrastructure works within the Road and Bridge Project Department. The Site Engineer oversees on‑site execution and technical supervision of major road and bridge works, ensuring that construction activities align with engineering designs, project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Serving as the key link between design teams, contractors, and field personnel, the role manages daily site operations, resolves technical issues, monitors progress, verifies workmanship, and maintains accurate documentation. Through effective coordination, schedule control, and quality oversight, the Site Engineer ensures all infrastructure works are delivered with precision, efficiency, and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management Manage engineering projects from initiation to completion. Control project schedules and ensure timely progress. Oversee quality assurance and compliance with standards. Implement and monitor safety management measures. Coordinate design tasks and resolve technical issues. Manage Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements. Handle project handover and completion documentation. Work Review & Development Participate in weekly and monthly departmental meetings. Summarize performance and reinforce objectives. Contribute to meeting minutes. Continuously improve job-related knowledge and skills. Share insights from training sessions with colleagues. Assist the department manager in organizing training programs. Archives Management Organize paper and electronic documents monthly. Collect and archive work photos and videos. Upload materials to Cloud and back them up to a hard drive. Company Policies Adherence Attend company and Road & Bridge Project Department training and meeting sessions and summarize / review training and meeting content after each session. Maintain daily construction management logs. Upload logs to the Chat group and respond to supervising engineer comments. Learn and comply with all company regulations and procedures. Follow attendance, vehicle management, safety protocols, dormitory/office rules, and 6S management. Assist the lead engineer in organizing and participating in team-building activities. Perform additional tasks assigned by superiors.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, construction engineering or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 3 years of experience bridge and road project engineer Valid Membership with Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) Proficient in the operational procedures and workflows outlined in the road and bridge project testing management guidelines Proficient in mastering the technical specifications related to road and bridge engineering adopted in China and Zambia, with a preliminary understanding of FIDIC clauses and ability to apply relevant knowledge to practical project management work Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CAD Innovation capability Demonstrate strong innovative awareness and consistently identifies improvement opportunities Actively propose constructive suggestions for enhancing processes or outcomes by applying creative thinking across various scenarios to develop effective solutions Utilize new methods, tools, and technologies to drive innovation projects and promote an innovation‑focused culture within teams Encourage teammates to contribute fresh ideas and experiment with new approaches Communication
