Senior Credit Operations Officer– Wholesale, Syndication and SMEs

Job description

To ensure timely and accurate disbursement of secured retail and wholesale loans in line with credit policies and procedures, while minimizing risk, maintaining loan book quality, supporting the Manager in daily unit operations, dual authorization, and enhancing customer satisfaction through compliance with agreed service levels. Main Responsibilities: Support the Manager in ensuring the daily logs of disbursement is done as per SLA. In absence of the Manager, distribute logs of pending to the team and ensure disbursement is done in accordance with credit policy and accuracy. Advice the Management on gaps and arrears that need improvement to attain efficiency and accuracy within the unit. Review submitted drawdowns and ensure completed before disbursement. Create, extend and amend all Overdraft (OD) limits as per credit approval and customer requests. Review and first level authorize entries within the unit that need duo authorization in the core banking system. On daily basis, ensure that disbursement of all loans submitted from the business are done within agreed SLA. In absence of the Manager, review all application drawdowns that are received for disbursement and allocate them to officers. Verify and ensure customer data are correctly captured in core banking system and loan management system for first level approval. Regular review of the existing disbursement check list and advice the Manager on gaps or improvement. Timely posting of liquidation amount received from collection and SAM team ensuring our NPL is managed. Timely amendment of accounts wrongly booked and approved for amendment from credit administration, business banking and consumer banking. Timely reporting of suspicious transactions, applications, risk events and incidences as per the procedure. Coaching junior Officers and new recruited Officers from branch network on the controls and proper validation of credit applications before submission for disbursement. Review and Data capturing for the credit card limit creation after approval from Credit. Knowledge and Skills: Operational understanding of the loan circle, NMB lending policies and loan products, Technical - Computer literacy (Excel application is crucial), Core banking system. Behavioral - Data analysis, Time Management, Teamwork, attention to details, accuracy, result oriented and adaptability. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or related fields. Master's degree in business studies is an added advantage Banking certification(s) is an added advantage Banking experience of more than 3 years in Wholesale, SMEs & Syndication and Retail Credit Operations Experience in loans is an added advantageNMB Bank Plc is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
