Job summaryThe Radiographer will be responsible for providing radiological services to patients regardless of their personal characteristics.7. Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure a cordial welcoming and guiding clients and patients undergoing radiological procedures.Providing thorough radiological procedures before the procedure is carried out.Ensuring that the imaging equipments are in good condition.Ensure that radiology department has required resources through lobbying with management through the Head of clinical department.Preparation of radiology department budget and present it to management for approval.Conducting audits of patient file to monitor patients care.Ordering resources for use in the radiology department.Scanning patients using the ultra sound scanning machine and interpret the results.Conduct proper filling of x-ray codes in the computer system.Promote a safe working environment by adhering to infection prevention procedures.Supervise cleanliness of radiology department and the junior staff.Evaluate and monitoring the quality of radiographs.Recording data in relevant registers.Performing any other duties assigned by management from time to time.8. QualificationsDiploma in Radiography Technician obtained from recognized training institutionRegistered with Medical Council of Malawi.Preferably 2 years post – qualification experience is a busy hospital environment.9. Knowledge, Ability and SkillsWell conversant with the Health system in MalawiAbility to work independentlyAbility to lead a teamEffective communication skillsCustomer service skillProblem identification and solving skillsEmpathetic and friendly10.
