Gateway Marine Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Port Clerk to join their Customs Clearing & Forwarding team in Mombasa.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle port processes for import and export consignments from arrival to release/loading.
- Coordinate reefer container movements with shipping lines, KPA and KRA.
- Follow up on verifications, inspections, documentation and cargo release.
- Provide accurate and timely status updates to clients and internal teams.
- Ensure smooth handling of time-sensitive and cold-chain cargo.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Port Clerk handling both imports and exports.
- Hands-on experience with reefer containers and chilled/frozen cargo.
- Proficiency in KWATOS.
- Knowledge of port and customs systems including iCMS, KenTrade (Single Window) and shipping line portals.
- Strong understanding of Mombasa Port procedures and documentation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Diploma/Certificate in Clearing & Forwarding, Logistics or a related field is an added advantage.
