Operations SpecialistPosted by Mvungi Job MasterEmployer: Old Mutual MalawiLocation: LilongweJob Type: Full-timeClosing Date: Friday, 6 November 2026Application Link: https://oldmutual.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com/Old_Mutual_Careers/job/Lilongwe/Operations-Specialist_JR-84815-1About the OpportunityOld Mutual invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Operations Specialist.The successful candidate will coordinate and supervise OMFIN's back-office operations, ensuring efficient digital loan processing, effective customer onboarding, strong operational controls, sales-agent administration and consistent service delivery.The role will support the expansion of private employer payroll and annuitant lending, as well as government payroll lending.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the daily activities of the Credit and Operations back-office team and ensure achievement of service targets.Monitor the complete loan processing journey, from application receipt and verification through credit decisioning, approval, disbursement and post-disbursement administration.Identify operational bottlenecks, control weaknesses and process inefficiencies, and implement approved corrective measures.Develop and improve standard operating procedures, checklists, process maps and operational controls.Ensure compliance with approved credit policies, product terms, delegated authorities and regulatory requirements.Monitor loan application volumes, processing turnaround times, pending applications, approval queues and disbursement performance.Coordinate with Credit, Finance, ICT, Digital and other teams to resolve system issues and processing exceptions.Oversee the operational onboarding and performance monitoring of sales agents.Supervise operational staff, assess workloads and support staff development.Monitor operational risks relating to onboarding, disbursements, collections, system processing and customer data.Prepare operational dashboards and management reports and recommend improvements to efficiency and customer service.Key RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Operations Management or another relevant discipline.At least five years of relevant experience in banking, microfinance, digital lending, credit operations or financial services operations.At least two years of experience in a supervisory, team leadership or operational coordination role.Experience managing loan processing workflows, operational controls, reconciliations or service-level performance.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools.Added advantages:Experience with core banking systems, loan management systems and digital credit decisioning platforms.Experience managing sales-agent networks, payroll lending operations or high-volume digital lending processes.Key Performance IndicatorsPerformance will be assessed based on loan processing turnaround times, reduction in application backlogs and processing errors, reporting accuracy, sales-agent onboarding and productivity, compliance with internal controls, timely resolution of operational incidents, team productivity and customer service.How to ApplyInterested applicants should submit their applications through the official Old Mutual careers portal using the link below:Apply here: https://oldmutual.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com/Old_Mutual_Careers/job/Lilongwe/Operations-Specialist_JR-84815-1Closing date: Friday, 6 November 2026.Find More Opportunities with Mvungi Job MasterExplore more vacancies and career opportunities through Mvungi Job Master.Browse jobs: https://mvungi.com/jobsRegister as a job seeker: https://mvungi.com/registerNeed a stronger CV?
