CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Great North Road Academy Group is a growing organisation with interests in education, rehabilitation and related services. We are inviting suitably qualified, motivated and committed individuals to apply for the following positions:

1. COUNSELLOR

Location: GNRA Rehabilitation Centre

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional counselling and psychosocial support to clients/learners.
  • Conduct individual and group counselling sessions.
  • Develop and implement appropriate counselling intervention plans.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential counselling records.
  • Conduct assessments and make appropriate referrals where necessary.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary and case-management meetings.
  • Provide guidance and support on behavioural, emotional and social challenges.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma or Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or a related field.
  • Relevant professional registration where applicable.
  • Previous counselling experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills.

2. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Location: GNRA Special Needs Centre

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop individual intervention plans.
  • Provide therapy aimed at improving clients’ functional, sensory, motor and daily living skills.
  • Monitor and document client progress.
  • Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, speech therapists, counsellors, teachers and other professionals.
  • Educate clients, parents, caregivers and staff on appropriate therapeutic strategies.
  • Maintain accurate client records and prepare progress reports.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and institutional programmes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution.
  • Valid professional registration/licence where applicable.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs or rehabilitation clients will be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

3. UPPER PRIMARY TEACHER

Location: Great North Road Academy Group Schools

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective lessons for upper primary learners.
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments and teaching resources.
  • Assess and monitor learner progress.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
  • Provide appropriate academic and pastoral support to learners.
  • Participate in school activities, meetings and professional development programmes.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and submit reports as required.
  • Work closely with parents/guardians and school leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma or Degree in Primary Education or a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Teaching Council of Zambia registration.
  • Experience teaching upper primary learners.
  • Good classroom management, communication and ICT skills.

4. INTERN TEACHERS – SPECIAL EDUCATION

Location: GNRA Special Needs Education Centre

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed intern teachers interested in gaining practical experience in special education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons for learners with special educational needs.
  • Support individualised learning programmes.
  • Assist teachers in classroom management and learner activities.
  • Observe and document learner progress.
  • Participate in therapy, recreational and educational activities where required.
  • Support learners with daily routines and educational activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma/Degree in Special Education or a related teaching programme.
  • Passion for working with learners with special educational needs.
  • Patience, commitment and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

5. INTERN SECONDARY TEACHERS – COMMERCIAL SUBJECTS

Location: Great North Road Academy Group Schools

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and delivering secondary school lessons.
  • Prepare teaching and learning materials.
  • Assist with assessments, marking and learner progress monitoring.
  • Support classroom management.
  • Participate in school activities and departmental meetings.
  • Work under the guidance of experienced teachers and departmental heads.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Pursuing or recently completed a Diploma/Degree in Secondary Education with a specialisation in Commercial subjects.
  • Strong subject knowledge.
  • Good communication and classroom-management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.

6. INTERN SECONDARY TEACHERS – SCIENCE SUBJECTS

Location: Great North Road Academy Group Schools

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and delivering effective science lessons.
  • Prepare teaching and learning materials.
  • Assist with practical lessons and laboratory activities where applicable.
  • Support assessments, marking and learner progress monitoring.
  • Maintain proper classroom and laboratory practices.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and school activities.
  • Work under the supervision and guidance of experienced teachers.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Pursuing or recently completed a Diploma/Degree in Secondary Education with a specialisation in Science subjects.
  • Good subject knowledge and interest in practical learning.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to learner development and professional growth.

7. ASSISTANT CHEF

Location: Great North Road Academy Group – Hospitality Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef/Chef in the preparation and presentation of meals.
  • Follow approved menus, recipes and portion-control requirements.
  • Ensure food is prepared in accordance with hygiene and food-safety standards.
  • Assist with kitchen cleaning and proper storage of food and equipment.
  • Monitor food quality and report shortages or damaged stock.
  • Assist with stock control and minimise food wastage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen.
  • Work effectively with other kitchen staff.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Head Chef or management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Certificate/Diploma in Food Production, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or a related field will be an advantage.
  • Previous kitchen or catering experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Good discipline, reliability and attention to detail.
