The successful candidate will be required to fulfil all duties associated with the appointment and will be expected to be available to work on campus at the Centurion Contact Learning Campus as required to meet academic and operational requirements.  Purpose To deliver high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and academic support in language conversational sign language within the bachelor of education programmes, while contributing to curriculum development, quality assurance, and academic administration to enhance student success and support the academic objectives of the school of education. Key responsibilities Lecture and assess contact learning students in BEd (foundation phase teaching) and the BEd (intermediate phase teaching) programme(s) in the following module:                    o   Language conversational sign language (two classes a week) Independently use the learning management system and/or collaborate with colleagues to design, develop and deliver high quality module content.Contribute to programme development processes, including curriculum design, review and the creation or improvement of learning materials.Perform allocated internal moderation duties to ensure academic integrity, consistency and compliance with institutional standards.Provide academic support to students.Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and SOPs.Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.Fulfil functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.
