We are seeking an experienced Humanities Editor to join our editorial team.
The ideal candidate should have strong editorial and content-development skills, experience in educational publishing, and a good understanding of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with a bias in Geography and History.
- At least 4 years’ experience in book publishing, preferably educational publishing.
- Strong editing, proofreading, research and fact-checking skills.
- Good understanding of the CBE curriculum and its requirements.
- Ability to develop and review accurate, engaging and learner-centred content.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Experience working with authors, reviewers, designers and other publishing teams.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in educational publishing.
Key Responsibilities
- Source for manuscripts and possess an ability to come up with innovative publishing projects.
- Edit and proofread humanities educational manuscripts to a high editorial standard.
- Ensure content is accurate, relevant, engaging and curriculum-compliant.
- Work closely with authors, reviewers and designers throughout the publishing process.
- Conduct content research, fact-checking and quality assurance.
- Ensure consistency, coherence and appropriate progression of content across titles.
- Support the development of high-quality CBE-aligned learning materials.
