POSTED BY MVUNGI JOB MASTERVACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTORGANISATION: ILLOVO SUGAR (MALAWI) PLCPOSITION: HTC COUNSELLOR (2 POSITIONS)Location: Dwangwa, Malawi Department: Medical Services Reports to: Medical Assistant Job Category: Permanent Application Deadline: Monday, 26 October 2026ABOUT THE POSITIONIllovo Sugar (Malawi) plc invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for two HTC Counsellor positions at Dwangwa.The successful candidates will provide confidential HIV Testing and Counselling services, support HIV prevention and treatment adherence, and contribute to workplace health and wellness initiatives.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide confidential HIV Testing and Counselling services in accordance with national and workplace health guidelines.Conduct HIV testing where authorised, ensuring correct procedures, testing algorithms, infection prevention practices and quality standards.Identify clients requiring additional psychosocial, clinical or social support and refer them appropriately.Monitor the availability of HIV testing kits, gloves, lancets, registers, forms and other counselling supplies.Conduct risk-reduction counselling and provide HIV prevention education to individuals, couples, groups and workplace audiences.Participate in quality assurance activities, supervision sessions, refresher training and data reviews.Provide adherence counselling to clients receiving ART or preparing to start treatment.Support HIV awareness campaigns, wellness days, outreach activities and stigma-reduction initiatives.Comply with company policies and procedures, including SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption requirements.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSMSCE or equivalent.Certificate in HIV Testing and Counselling from a recognised institution.2–3 years of experience in HIV testing and counselling, psychosocial counselling, ART support or community health services.Knowledge of HIV prevention, testing algorithms, counselling ethics and referral pathways.Strong interpersonal, counselling, listening and communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Basic record-keeping and report-writing skills.HOW TO APPLYSubmit an application letter, detailed CV, copies of relevant certificates, details of traceable referees and a copy of your National ID to:The HR Mill Head Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc P.O.
