HR Manager leading people strategies across talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management and HR compliance, requiring a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Industrial Relations, at least 5 years progressive HR experience with 2+ years in a managerial role and strong knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation, in a healthcare environment, on-site role.

Role Overview

• The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of people strategies that attract, develop, engage and retain a high-performing workforce.
• The role will oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, payroll coordination, learning and development, HR compliance and organisational culture, while ensuring HR practices support the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual HR strategy and work plan.
• Lead workforce planning, staffing and recruitment processes.
• Develop and implement effective recruitment and selection procedures.
• Lead performance management, objective setting, reviews and performance improvement plans.
• Manage disciplinary and grievance processes in line with employment law and company policies.
• Develop HR dashboards covering headcount, turnover, attendance, payroll costs and other key metrics.
• Conduct training needs assessments and coordinate learning and development programmes.
• Develop and review HR policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Kenyan employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Strengthen employee engagement and organisational culture.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism and effective communication between management and employees.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Industrial Relations.
• Professional qualification/membership with IHRM is an advantage.
• Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field is an added advantage.
• At least 5 years’ progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a managerial or senior HR role.
• Healthcare sector experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and public relations skills.
