VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT@ VISION PAINT & BUILDING SERVICES (VPBS)POSITION: HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE) OFFICER Location: MzuzuOVERVIEW Vision Paint & Building Services (VPBS) is seeking a responsible, detail-oriented, and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to support safe and compliant operations across our construction, painting, and building maintenance projects.Key Responsibilities1. Develop, implement, and monitor HSE procedures across VPBS projects and operations.2. Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.3. Carry out risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.4. Ensure employees, contractors, and visitors comply with site safety requirements.5. Monitor the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).6. Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and HSE awareness sessions.7. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare reports.8. Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, and incident documentation.9. Monitor housekeeping, waste management, and environmental practices on project sites.10. Support emergency preparedness and response procedures.11. Liaise with project teams to address safety concerns and corrective actions.12. Monitor compliance with applicable occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.13. Provide regular HSE performance reports to management.Requirements1. Diploma or degree in occupational health & safety, environmental health, safety management, or a related field.2. Relevant HSE certification will be an added advantage.3. At least 2–3 years’ relevant experience, preferably within construction, building maintenance, manufacturing, or a related environment.4. Good understanding of construction-site hazards and safety controls.5. Knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency procedures.6. Strong communication, reporting, and organizational skills.7. Ability to work independently and engage effectively with site teams.8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.9.
