VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT @ LIVESTOCK CARE CENTRE LTDPOSITION: ANIMAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (2 POSITIONS)Location: LilongweOVERVIEWLivestock Care Centre Ltd is an animal-health and livestock solutions company providing veterinary medicines and vaccines, livestock and poultry health products, animal feeds and nutritional products, livestock equipment, and technical support to farmers.We are inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced and commercially oriented individuals to fill two positions of Animal Health Technician based at our shop in Area 49, Lilongwe.The Animal Health Technician will provide high-quality technical and customer support to livestock and poultry farmers while actively participating in product sales, quality assurance, inventory management and the day-to-day operation of the shop. The position requires an individual who can effectively combine animal-health technical knowledge, livestock husbandry experience, customer service and commercial sales responsibilities.Application Deadline: Monday, 2nd October 2026POSITION: ANIMAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (2 POSITIONS)JOB TYPE: Full TimeKEY REQUIREMENTSMinimum Qualifications & Experience:A minimum of a Diploma in Animal Health from a recognized institution.At least three (3) years of relevant working experience, preferably in a busy commercial animal-health, veterinary, livestock, agricultural-input or related service company.Strong practical experience in customer support and livestock husbandry, particularly poultry and/or livestock production.Previous experience in veterinary pharmaceuticals, vaccines, livestock inputs, technical sales, inventory management or veterinary retail operations will be a strong advantage.Where the duties constitute regulated veterinary or para-veterinary practice, applicants should be appropriately registered or eligible for registration with the relevant veterinary regulatory authority in Malawi.Required Competencies:Strong customer-service and communication skills.Commercial awareness and a strong sales orientation.Practical livestock-production and husbandry knowledge.Integrity, accountability and attention to detail.Strong record-keeping and inventory-control discipline.Basic computer literacy and ability to use POS/business systems.Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProvide professional frontline technical support and practical livestock-husbandry guidance to customers within the authorised scope of practice.Assist customers in selecting appropriate veterinary medicines, vaccines, nutritional products, feeds, supplements and livestock equipment.Explain correct product use, dosage, administration, withdrawal periods, storage and handling requirements within professional scope.Actively promote and sell company products and contribute towards achievement of individual and shop sales targets.Build strong relationships with farmers and other customers and provide effective after-sales technical support.Receive, inspect and correctly store veterinary medicines, vaccines and other products.Maintain the vaccine cold chain, including routine refrigerator and temperature monitoring and documentation.Conduct routine quality assurance (QA) checks covering product condition, batch/lot numbers, expiry dates, storage conditions and product traceability.Apply FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) principles and promptly identify and quarantine expired, damaged, recalled or otherwise non-conforming products.Maintain accurate stock records and participate in receiving goods, stock counts, reconciliation, stock transfers and inventory control.Maintain proper records of veterinary medicines and vaccines in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.Handle customer complaints professionally, document product-quality concerns and escalate technical or regulatory matters appropriately.Participate in daily shop opening/closing, merchandising, POS/sales processing and other routine shop operations.Support implementation and continuous improvement of company SOPs, quality systems and regulatory compliance.Perform other reasonable animal-health, sales and operational duties assigned by management.PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENTPerformance will be assessed across technical competence, customer satisfaction, sales performance, stock accountability, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.HOW TO APPLYInterested candidates should submit a cover letter, detailed CV and copies of relevant academic/professional qualifications by email to:Email: livestockcarecentremw@gmail.comEmail Subject: Application – Animal Health TechnicianOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
