Job description
Finance Assistant role at Superior Homes, managing financial transactions and reconciliations. Requires a Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA Section 2, 2+ years’ experience, and hands-on experience with Sage or Xero Accounting Software. Full-time, on-site role.
Responsibilities
- Process and record daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts and expenses.
- Prepare and verify supplier invoices and payment documentation.
- Capture and maintain accurate financial records in the respective accounting system.
- Review invoices, LPOs and supporting documents for accuracy, completeness and approved rates.
- Maintain accounts payable and receivable records and monitor outstanding balances.
- Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
- Identify and follow up on discrepancies, errors and outstanding documentation.
- Assist with month-end reporting, financial schedules and management accounts.
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial records and supporting documents.
- Support audit and statutory compliance requirements.
- Contribute to improving Finance Department processes and controls.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Requirements
- The candidate must hold a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CPA Section 2 or equivalent, while KATC/ATD finalists will be an added advantage.
- The candidate must have a minimum of two years’ relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance.
- Candidates must have hands-on experience with Sage Accounting Software for the Sage position or Xero Accounting Software for the Xero position.
- The candidate must have a good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, general accounting procedures, audits, and month-end reporting.
- The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant accounting applications, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- The candidate must be organised, able to work independently and under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with established policies and internal controls.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, integrity, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills when dealing with colleagues and other stakeholders.
