Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the coffee nurseries business. The role will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with statutory and tax requirements, effective cash and inventory control, and timely financial reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for
- Maintaining accurate accounting records for all nursery operations, including sales of seedlings, production costs, expenses, and operational inputs and supplies.
- Performing reconciliations and monitoring seedling sales and inventory levels.
- Investigating and resolving financial and inventory discrepancies.
- Preparing management accounts, cash flow reports, and cost analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
- Taking into account seasonal agricultural cycles when preparing financial reports and analysis.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and statutory obligations and maintaining proper documentation.
- Supporting internal and external audits and maintaining effective internal controls.
- Managing supplier accounts, payments, and reconciliations.
- Providing financial and administrative support to management.
- Ensuring financial policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Handling accounting-related queries from staff, customers, and suppliers.
- Performing any other duties that may be assigned by Management.

- Good understanding of financial accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and statutory compliance.
