Filter Plate Technician

We’re looking for a Filter Plate Technician to join our PSE – Repairs team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for refurbishing Larox PF filter plates and associated filtration components to ensure they meet operational, safety and OEM standards before being returned to customers. Your work will play a key part in keeping our customers’ operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently.

You will report to the Supervisor.

This role is based in Kitwe, Zambia.

Team you belong to

You will join the PSE – Repairs team and work closely with other internal staff who are committed to delivering quality repairs and reliable customer support.

What you’ll do

• Repair Larox PF filter plates and filtration components, including resurfacing, pin replacement, inlet and outlet replacement, edge repair, chemical cleaning and plugging.
• Perform stainless steel CO2 welding, cutting, grinding and location pin repairs.
• Assemble and reassemble components to OEM specifications and fit and assemble metal parts and tools.
• Operate hydraulic test rigs, polishing equipment, heating equipment and other mechanical workshop tools to restore damaged plates to acceptable standards.
• Use measuring equipment and fixed and portable workshop tools to complete repairs accurately.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications, follow established procedures and compile material lists.
• Maintain high standards of quality, workmanship and safety in all repair activities.

What you’ll bring

• GCE (General Certificate of Education) or equivalent and a Boilermaker Craft Certificate or equivalent trade qualification.
• Relevant experience as a boilermaker with strong CO2 welding experience.
• Excellent welding, fabrication and mechanical skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications and work to OEM and quality standards.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication, cooperation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully in a team environment.
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with site safety rules and regulations.
