Job description

Millfield Runda School is a growing Cambridge International School in Nairobi committed to academic excellence, innovation, and developing confident, articulate and lifelong learners. We are seeking an outstanding and passionate English Teacher to join our team.

THE ROLE

  • The successful candidate will teach English across the Junior and Senior School, delivering engaging lessons that develop learners’ reading, writing, speaking and critical thinking skills. The teacher will prepare students for Cambridge Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE English examinations, ensuring high academic standards and excellent learner outcomes. The successful applicant will contribute to curriculum development, assessment, co-curricular activities and the wider life of the school.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a specialisation in English or English and Literature
  • Current TSC Registration
  • At least 5 years’ teaching experience in a British Curriculum or Cambridge International School
  • Demonstrable experience teaching Cambridge Lower Secondary English and Cambridge IGCSE English
  • Proven experience preparing learners for Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE examinations with strong academic outcomes
  • Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to inspire a love of language and literature
  • Strong classroom management, communication and organisational skills
  • Experience integrating technology into teaching and learning
