Job description

The position of a driver will be reporting Fleet and Stores Supervisor The company driver is responsible for the safe, reliable and timeous transportation of staff, guests, production personnel and equipment in support of broadcast and production operations. The role requires a valid driver's licence and PrDP, good knowledge of Johannesburg and surrounding routes, and a strong commitment to road safety, vehicle care and professional service. Responsibilities: Conduct daily vehicle inspections before the start of each shift and report any defects or safety concerns.Ensure assigned vehicles are clean, roadworthy and properly maintained.Transport staff, guests, production crews and equipment safely and timeously to required destinations.Assist passengers who require support when entering or exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.Plan safe and efficient routes using GPS, maps and available traffic information.Adjust routes where necessary based on traffic conditions, road closures and operational requirements.Ensure crew pick-ups, guest movements and production-related transport requirements are completed on time.Comply with all applicable road traffic laws, company fleet policies and safety procedures.Report accidents, vehicle damage, traffic incidents and mechanical faults immediately.Maintain professional conduct and provide a courteous service to staff, guests and production personnel.Ensure the vehicle is securely parked and keys and other vehicle-related equipment are properly managed at the end of each shift.Qualifications and experience: Matric.Valid driver's licence and professional driving permit (PrDP).Minimum 1 years' driving experience, preferably in a production, media or corporate environment.Good knowledge of Johannesburg and other major cities around the country.Good knowledge of GPS and route planning.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Strong customer-service orientation.Good road safety awareness and defensive driving skills.Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.Reliable, punctual and responsible.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to work varied shifts, weekends and public holidays.
