Job description
We are seeking an experienced and analytical Data Analyst to be assessed for a potential data and analytics engagement. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in data analysis, reporting, dashboard development, data pipelines and Azure-based integrations.

Responsibilities
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies and actionable business insights.
- Develop, maintain and enhance reports, business intelligence dashboards and performance metrics.
- Support the development, optimisation and monitoring of data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Contribute to Azure-based data integrations and analytics solutions.
- Perform statistical analysis and data modelling to support business reporting and decision-making.
- Implement and maintain data quality controls, validation processes and data governance practices.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity and reliability across reporting and analytics platforms.
- Document analytical methodologies, data processes and reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- A relevant NQF Level 7 qualification in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python and R.
- Experience in statistical analysis, data interpretation and insight generation.
- Proven capability in data quality management, data validation and data integrity controls.
- Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes and data integration.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure data services and cloud-based integrations.
- Advantageous Skills: Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar business intelligence tools.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric or related Azure data services.
