Commercial Assistant supporting external liaison and day-to-day commercial coordination with government authorities and business partners, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Business or International Relations with 1-3 years relevant experience in commercial support or corporate liaison, in an infrastructure/expressway environment, on-site role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Commercial Manager in external liaison and maintain effective day-to-day communication and coordination with Kenyan government authorities, the Contracting Authority (CA), business partners, clients, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organizing English business correspondence, reports, meeting materials, and other external documents, and support the receipt, registration, circulation, and filing of company documents.
- Coordinate business meetings, client visits, and other commercial activities, including meeting notices, preparation of materials, venue arrangements, participant coordination, preparation of meeting minutes, and follow-up of action items through to completion.
- Maintain commercial records and tracking logs for key matters, correspondence, meeting decisions, and pending tasks, and provide timely progress updates.
- Support the day-to-day commercial coordination needs of different departments and ensure effective communication, liaison, and follow-up between internal teams and external parties.
- Provide English translation, interpretation, and on-site communication support during business meetings, site visits, and client receptions.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor and the Commercial Manager.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Marketing, Management, International Relations, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in commercial support, government or corporate liaison, or general coordination are preferred.
- Familiar with the Kenyan business environment and the working procedures of local government authorities, Contracting Authorities, and public institutions, with a good understanding of local business etiquette and basic compliance requirements.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to independently draft or assist in preparing English emails, business correspondence, and work reports.
- Chinese communication skills, preferably HSK Level 4 or above, will be an advantage.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to support different departments in external liaison and commercial coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with practical experience in meeting coordination, document management, task tracking, and follow-up.
- Responsible, detail-oriented, and execution-focused, with good teamwork and service awareness, the ability to work under pressure, and the ability to independently follow through on assigned tasks.
