As the institution prepares to transition into a commercial bank, it is seeking a qualified and customer-focused Cash Teller to join its growing team.Job OverviewPosition: Cash TellerReports To: Branch SupervisorThe Cash Teller is responsible for accurately processing cash transactions while providing excellent customer service. The role ensures effective cash management, daily balancing, compliance with internal controls, and support for efficient branch operations.Key ResponsibilitiesCash Management & ProcessingReceive and process customer deposits, withdrawals, and payments accurately.Verify the authenticity of banknotes and coins and identify counterfeit or suspicious currency.Maintain proper custody and security of cash at all times.Ensure adequate cash levels at the teller station to support daily operations.Process transactions promptly while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Cash Balancing & ControlsBalance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each business day.Investigate and report cash shortages or overages in accordance with company procedures.Maintain accurate transaction records and supporting documentation.Comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and cash-handling policies.Support vault cash management and end-of-day reconciliation processes where required.Customer ServiceDeliver courteous, professional, and efficient service to customers.Respond accurately to customer enquiries regarding account transactions.Resolve customer concerns promptly and escalate issues when necessary.Promote a positive customer experience through excellent service delivery.Contribute to customer satisfaction and retention.Compliance & Operational SupportComply with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to cash handling.Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and company information.Support branch operations through teamwork and collaboration.Participate in audits and operational reviews as required.
Requirements
