The role involves merchant acquisition, onboarding, relationship management, payment solution support, revenue growth, compliance, and performance monitoring across POS, card payments, e-commerce, KCB Lipa, Agent Banking POS, and International Money Transfer solutions. Key Responsibilities Merchant Acquisition & Relationship Management Support merchant acquisition, onboarding, activation, and retention for POS, Agent Banking POS, card payments, KCB Lipa, International Money Transfer, and e-commerce solutions. Develop and execute sales plans to achieve business targets and revenue objectives. Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities in collaboration with SME, Corporate, and Branch teams. Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with merchants, payment service providers, and key stakeholders. Act as the primary contact for acquiring customers, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction. Understand customer business needs and provide suitable acquiring solutions. Manage customer requirements and support the retention and expansion of existing accounts. Payment Solutions & Platform Management Provide end-to-end support and administration of Card Acquiring, Merchant POS, Agent Banking POS, E-commerce, KCB Lipa, and IMT platforms. Promote and support POS, e-commerce, and digital payment solutions. Drive adoption of value-added products and services to increase revenue from existing customers. Understand merchant acquiring products, pricing models, and risk strategies. Merchant Assessment & Commercial Support Appraise merchant applications and recommend qualified merchants in line with risk and business criteria. Support discussions and negotiations on pricing, contracts, and operational matters with customers. Make sound commercial decisions that maximize profitability and customer retention. Merchant Training & Support Coordinate merchant training on: POS and card acceptance operations Lipa Namba and e-commerce solutions Fraud prevention and chargeback management Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements Payment acceptance best practices Compliance & Risk Management Ensure adherence to regulatory, card scheme, and internal compliance requirements. Support appropriate risk management across merchant acquiring activities. Ensure merchants understand relevant payment acceptance, fraud prevention, and AML requirements. Market Intelligence & Product Development Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support product enhancements and innovation. Monitor market trends, customer activities, competitor developments, and industry changes. Identify opportunities to improve acquiring products and services based on market and customer needs. Reporting & Performance Management Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for management. Monitor business performance against targets and revenue objectives. Track merchant activities, customer retention, product adoption, and revenue performance. Minimum Position Qualification Requirements Academic & Professional Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, or an equivalent field. Required Professional Qualifications Merchant acquiring and card background. Added Advantage Master’s Degree Business Administration. Added Advantage Experience Minimum of 4 years of experience required.
