Qrent Zambia is a leading computer and IT equipment supplier based in Lusaka, serving businesses and individuals across Zambia with reliable technology solutions. We are growing our team and looking for a driven, technically savvy Business Development Manager to help expand our client base and market presence.
The Role
We’re looking for a results-oriented Business Development Manager who understands the computer hardware and IT products market and can build strong relationships with corporate, government, and individual clients. You’ll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, growing revenue, and positioning Qrent Zambia as the supplier of choice for computer equipment and IT solutions in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the corporate, government, education, and SME sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Develop and execute sales and business development strategies to grow market share
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and tenders for computer hardware and IT solutions
- Stay up to date on the latest computer hardware, peripherals, and IT product trends
- Advise clients on suitable technical solutions based on their business needs
- Negotiate contracts and close deals in line with company targets
- Collaborate with the technical and procurement teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform business strategy
- Represent Qrent Zambia at industry events, exhibitions, and client meetings
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management — preferably within the IT/computer hardware industry
- Good technical knowledge of computers, IT hardware, and peripherals is a strong pre-requisite
- Solid understanding of the Zambian IT market and procurement processes (including tenders) is an added advantage
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to meet and exceed sales targets
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Lusaka and beyond as required
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/sales tracking tools
