Job description
Providing academic and strategic leadership in teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement. The role is responsible for advancing knowledge through high-quality research, delivering and overseeing academic programmes, supervising postgraduate students, mentoring staff, securing research funding, and contributing to university governance while ensuring excellence in academic standards and institutional development.
Qualifications
An Associate Professor MUST have the following
- An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized University;
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Senior Lecturer; or six (6) years of research/industry experience or equivalent;
- Have a minimum of six (6) articles in refereed journals or minimum cumulative score of Forty-Eight (48) equivalent publication points of which at least thirty-six (36) should be from refereed scholarly journals since appointment as Senior Lecturer;
- Supervised at least four (4) post-graduate students to completion, including at least one doctoral student as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent;
- Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable); and.
- Attracted research or development funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow.
