Sales and Marketing Jobs in Kenya: CRM Pipeline and Field CV Guide

Prepare for sales and marketing jobs in Kenya with honest pipeline evidence, field-visit records, campaign measures and written commission questions.

Sales and marketing searches combine field sales, account support, digital campaigns, retail promotion, research and management. Choose the actual role family before tailoring a CV. A field-sales target and a marketing campaign objective are related, but they require different evidence.

Read the commercial arrangement

Record the employer, product or service, territory, contract type, basic pay, commission, expenses, target and reporting line. Ask for written terms and clarify when a sale counts, how cancellations are treated and which travel or data costs you must cover. Do not pay for a territory or guaranteed client list.

Build truthful pipeline evidence

Create a fictional CRM table with lead source, contact date, need, stage, next action, owner and consent status. Use imaginary people and businesses. Include one lead that is closed as unsuitable rather than forcing every contact toward a sale.

If you used a real CRM, name the task you performed without exposing client details. State whether you created records, updated stages, prepared reports or managed the full pipeline. Do not claim team revenue as an individual result.

Prepare a field-visit record

Use general areas rather than private addresses. Record planned purpose, appointment status, material required, outcome and follow-up. Add a cancelled meeting and show how you updated the route and informed the relevant person. The sample should demonstrate organisation, not publish a live territory plan.

For digital marketing, replace the route exercise with a campaign brief: audience, objective, message, channel, budget boundary, metric and result. Separate impressions, leads and completed sales because they are not the same outcome.

Quantify only what you can support

Use verified targets, conversion measures or campaign results. If exact numbers are confidential, describe the scale carefully or focus on the control and outcome. Avoid “doubled sales” without a period, baseline and source.

Explain one unsuccessful activity and what changed after review. Employers need evidence of judgement, not a portfolio in which every campaign is presented as a success.

Write and submit the application

Lead the CV with the relevant market, channel and evidence. Prepare interview stories about a declined offer, an incorrect CRM record, a complaint and pressure to make an unsupported promise. Respect customer consent and product terms.

Verify the live vacancy, location and compensation structure. Apply through the stated route, protect customer data and never pay for shortlisting or a promised sales position.
