Job description

Yassir is hiring an Assistant Online Merchandiser for its Johannesburg team. This full-time, on-site role manages the digital shelf customers see in the Yassir app: category trees and filters, product images and attributes, search results, promotions, bundles, and homepage and category modules. The role also checks featured stock with Inventory and Operations, publishes accurate catalogue content through a CMS or PIM, and uses dashboard results to improve clicks, add-to-cart and conversion.

Location and hours: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa; Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00. Occasional after-hours or weekend support is required for campaign launches and catalogue updates, with time off in lieu.

Requirements

Yassir asks for 1–2 years of ecommerce merchandising, category, or digital content operations experience, and will consider strong graduates with relevant projects or a portfolio. Applicants should have hands-on catalogue work with titles, images, attributes, tags and collections; exposure to search or product-listing optimisation; strong organisation, written English and analytical skills; and experience with a product CMS or PIM, Google Sheets functions, analytics dashboards, Slack and Jira or similar tools. A Matric Certificate or higher is required. A related diploma or degree, quick-commerce or grocery experience, basic SEO, and additional South African languages are advantages.
