Our mission is to empower local communities by promoting education, health, nutrition, and economic empowerment programs that create lasting change.We believe in the power of community-driven solutions and are committed to working hand-in-hand with local leaders, families, and volunteers to build a brighter future for those we serve.POSITION OVERVIEWMtendere Orphan Care is seeking to recruit three (3) female volunteers to serve as Volunteer Community Development Officers. The successful candidates will play a key role in designing, implementing, and monitoring community development projects. They will also be responsible for writing project proposals to support the organization's programs and activities.This is a volunteer position and is ideal for passionate, self-motivated individuals who are eager to make a difference in the community while gaining valuable experience in the development sector.Additionally, we are offering internship opportunities. We are looking for individuals who will perform exceptionally well during a six (6) month internship period. Those who demonstrate outstanding performance will be retained as permanent members of our team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Volunteer Community Development Officers will be responsible for the following duties:1. Identifying community needs and developing appropriate intervention strategies.2. Designing and implementing community development projects.3. Writing and submitting project proposals to potential donors and partners.4. Mobilizing community members and stakeholders for project participation.5. Conducting community sensitization and awareness campaigns.6. Monitoring and evaluating ongoing projects and reporting on progress.7. Maintaining accurate records of project activities and beneficiaries.8. Collaborating with local leaders, schools, health facilities, and other stakeholders.9. Participating in organizational meetings and planning sessions.10. Performing any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS· Must be female (3 positions available)· Must have experience in community development work· Must be able to write project proposals· Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills· Must be able to work with minimal supervision· Must be willing to work on a voluntary basis· Must be committed, reliable, and passionate about community service· Knowledge of local community structures is an added advantageCONDITIONS OF SERVICE· This is a volunteer position.· There is no monthly salary.· Volunteers will receive a monthly allowance only.· The allowance will be provided at the end of each month.· The volunteer contract is renewable monthly based on performance and organizational needs.· Volunteers are expected to comply with all organizational policies and code of conduct.INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY· Interns will undergo a six (6) month internship period.· Interns who perform exceptionally well during the internship will be retained as permanent staff.· This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on experience and long-term employment.WHAT WE OFFER· An opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community development· A chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of orphans and vulnerable children· A supportive and collaborative working environment· Recognition and recommendation for outstanding volunteers· Opportunities for skills development and training· A pathway to permanent employment for outstanding internsHOW TO APPLYInterested candidates should submit the following documents:1.
