Volunteers play a key role in delivering programs and services that help every child discover the joy of reading and the power of knowledge. Role Description The Volunteer Children and Student Librarian is a volunteer, on-site role based at Kadibo Community Library in Nairobi County, Kenya. The volunteer will support daily library operations, including organizing and shelving materials, assisting children and students in finding age-appropriate books, and maintaining an inviting and orderly reading environment. The role includes planning and leading reading circles, homework support sessions, and basic literacy or study skills activities. The volunteer will help manage circulation tasks such as lending and returning books, updating simple records, and guiding users on library rules and services. Collaboration with other volunteers, teachers, and caregivers to promote library programs and outreach activities is also expected.
