Position Summary
At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers’ success. To support this mission, Syngenta’s Vegetable Seeds sales Team is seeking an energetic Vegetable Promoter in the based in Kitwe, Zambia. This role is the Syngenta representative to channel expected to build rapport with armers so to advocate for Syngenta’s varieties and securing trials and use. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing retailers and distributors in the Kitwe region and ensuring products are available at a level that reach the farmer and that distributors’ accounts are balanced.
Accountabilities
- Creating Demos at farms to ensure the visible evidence of Syngenta varieties’ performance
- Sharing information to farmers through technical training in the promoter’s region
- Organising and implementing events such as field days, product launches and stakeholder training in the market of Syngenta in the region
- Frequently being in contact with other players in the channel in order to increase their knowledge and utilisation of Syngenta products
- Being able to successfully introduce new products to the channel players in the assigned region through demos and technical training
- Doing weekly visits to retailers and distributors’ outlets to monitor stock levels
- Following up on debt of relevant retailers on behalf of distributors limited only to following up and no collections
- Monitoring product movement through sales at retailers’ and distributors’ premises
Qualifications
- Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 1 year experience in sales
- Sales experience will be an added advantage
- Technical experience in demo creation, training in agronomy and crop protection
- Knowledge in geographical, climate and environmental knowledge
- A valid driving license for a motor bike
- Good knowledge of Vegetable seeds market and customer needs
- Ability and willingness to travel on a motorbike for extensive distance
