The company has vacancies at its Rumphi Project Site: Job Title : Transit Concrete Mixer OperatorDuty Station : RumphiNature of Contract : Fixed Term 12 MonthsReporting to : Site Manager/Construction/Plant & Workshop ManagerDepartment : Workshop/BuildingJob SummaryThe Transit Concrete Mixer Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining a transit concrete mixer truck used to transport ready-mixed concrete from the batching plant to construction sites. The operator must ensure that concrete is transported and discharged efficiently while maintaining the quality of the concrete and complying with company safety procedures and Malawi road traffic requirements.Key Duties & Responsibilities• Operate the transit concrete mixer safely and efficiently on public roads and construction sites.• Conduct daily pre-start inspections of the vehicle, mixer drum, tyres, brakes, lights, hydraulic systems and other components.• Transport concrete from the batching plant to designated construction sites according to delivery instructions.• Operate the mixer drum at the appropriate speed during transportation to maintain concrete consistency.• Position the truck safely at the point of discharge and operate the discharge chute and related equipment correctly.• Ensure that concrete is discharged within the required time and in accordance with instructions from the site supervisor or concrete technician.• Maintain communication with the batching plant, site supervisors and dispatch personnel regarding deliveries and delays.• Complete delivery notes, trip sheets, vehicle inspection records and other required documentation accurately.• Wash and clean the mixer drum, chute and truck after each delivery to prevent concrete build-up.• Report mechanical faults, damage, unusual noises or safety concerns immediately to the responsible supervisor.• Monitor fuel, water and other operating requirements and report shortages or abnormal consumption.• Observe site traffic rules, speed limits, safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.• Assist with safe positioning and manoeuvring of the vehicle where required, while following the directions of designated banksmen or site personnel.• Take reasonable care of the vehicle and company property and ensure the mixer is parked securely when not in use.• Maintain a clean and professional vehicle appearance.• Carry out other reasonable duties related to concrete delivery and plant operations as assigned by management.Health and Safety Responsibilities• Follow all company health and safety policies and construction-site procedures.• Wear required PPE, including safety boots, helmet, reflective vest and other site-specific protective equipment.• Never operate the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance that may impair safe driving.• Report accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions and vehicle defects promptly.• Follow safe reversing, loading, unloading and discharge procedures.• Take particular care around workers, heavy equipment, overhead structures, excavations and electrical hazards.Qualifications and Experience• Malawi-valid driving licence appropriate for the class of heavy vehicle being operated.• Valid professional driving credentials required for the vehicle category under applicable Malawi requirements.• Minimum 2–3 years of experience driving heavy vehicles; experience operating transit concrete mixers is highly desirable.• Previous experience in construction, ready-mix concrete or related plant operations is an advantage.• Basic understanding of vehicle and mixer maintenance.• Good knowledge of road safety and defensive driving practices.• Ability to read and complete basic delivery and vehicle documentation.Skills and Competencies• Safe and responsible driving skills.• Good knowledge of heavy vehicle operation.• Ability to operate and control a concrete mixer safely.• Basic mechanical troubleshooting ability.• Good communication and teamwork skills.• Ability to follow instructions accurately.• Reliability, punctuality and good time management.• Careful handling of company equipment and vehicles.• Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery schedules.• Good awareness of construction-site hazards.Interested candidates who have met the above requirements should send their applications together with certified copies of certificates and CVs to the address that is convenient, no later than 2nd October 2026: Email: hr@hejackson.com Postal Address: The Head of Human Resource H.E.
