POSITIONTradesperson 1 MechanicDEPARTMENTAsset Management & HMELOCATIONGeita Gold Mine TanzaniaEMPLOYMENT STATUSFull Time OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE To do mining equipment maintenance including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and breakdown work. To maximize planned tasks and minimize breakdown work through proper and effective inspection during daily routine inspections, recording defects for maintenance planning and ad hoc work. To maintain safety standards before, during and after completion of task execution. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Conduct effective mechanical inspections on equipment during preventive maintenance and routine daily inspections as per work package. Attend equipment breakdowns in the field and respond in a self-driven manner. Minimize breakdowns and maximize completion of planned work through proper inspection and defect identification. Maintain safety standards at all times and act as a brother's keeper within the team. Work under minimal supervision while demonstrating self-motivation and self-discipline. Avoid creating conflict within the team and maintain honest communication within the team, across functional departments and across GGM. Work in line with ethics and compliance requirements as per AngloGold Ashanti. Understand and uphold the company value that safety is the number 1 value. Maintain good housekeeping at all times. Repair equipment and complete reports for submission to the supervisor. Demonstrate work behaviours consistent with company values and work within prescribed boundaries, including required behaviours, company policies, standards, procedures and legislation requirements. Meet work delivery deadlines to minimize demand for purpose without exceeding required by dates for work completion. Engage with the work execution team to contribute to planning details from those expected to do the work. Execute all assigned tasks in a timely manner. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Education & Qualification VETA Grade test 1-3 in motor vehicle mechanics or FTC in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering. Experience Not less than 3 years' experience on HME mining machines. Experience in HME. Participation in cost control. Knowledge & Skills Computer literate. Skilled in mechanical and auto electrical. Competent on HME equipment. Valid Tanzania driving license. English and communication. Respecting to all. Communication style and team brother's keeper. Mandated to stop unsafe job. Report unsafe acts and conditions. Engage and communicate issues to the supervisor.
