Objective
Our client in Healthcare sector seeks to engage a Theatre Nurse to Support in perioperative services by working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare operating theatres and ensure all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures.
Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations by providing instruments and maintaining aseptic technique.
Monitor patients’ vital signs before, during, and after surgery.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, including patient education and counselling.
Provide Scrub, circulating and recovery nursing support across range of surgical specialties
Maintain Strict aseptic technique & infection control standards
Participate in departmental meetings, continuous medical education (CMEs), and quality improvement initiatives
Educate patients and relatives on treatment plans, medication use, and preventive healthcare practices
Participate actively in patient assessment, treatment planning, monitoring, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient progress.
Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols in the theatre environment.
Handle specimens safely and ensure proper documentation for laboratory analysis.
Support emergency surgical interventions when required.
Qualifications
Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN)
Higher Diploma in Peri-operative Nursing
Licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya
At least 1–2 years of clinical experience
