## Job Description

Finance Jobs. KKCO East Africa Jobs. Tax Team Leader providing technical guidance on taxation issues and managing tax cases, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with CPA(K) and 4+ years experience in audit, in a tax consultancy environment, on-site role.

Main Purpose

- The Tax Team Leader will be responsible for carrying out detailed planning and execution of the tax unit of the advising clients on how to manage compliance and handle KRA matters as they emerge. The incumbent will also be responsible for leading and managing the tax training/consultancies and tax cases of the firm.

### Key Responsibilities

- Offers technical guidance on direct and indirect taxation issues such as PAYE, Income tax, withholding tax, corporate tax, VAT, CGT and customs tax among others.

- Advising clients on tax planning and compliance.

- Representing clients in tax audits, compliance checks and investigations as well as handling objections and appeals.

- Conduct training (internal & external).

- Transfer pricing advisory services.

- Preparing briefs on current tax developments and changes in tax legislation

- Supervise, train, and mentor staff and interns on tax projects.

- Review tax computations returns prepared by staff and make recommendations regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities.

- Prepare more complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations.

- Proactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve tax-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements.

- Responsible for timely update of Tax Watch (Our regular Tax Advisory newsletter to clients)

- Perform other job-related duties as may deem necessary.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES.

- A Bachelors’ degree in Commerce, Finance, Law, Economics or business-related disciplines.

- Full CPA (K), or ACCA professional qualifications.

- Minimum period of 4 years in audit. 

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in representing clients in tax disputes with KRA with evidence of representation of at least 5 clients. 

- Thorough knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and practice. Proficiency in iTax procedures and regulations)

- Diploma/Post graduate diploma in tax (KESRA) will be an added advantage
