What You Bring
- You’re a strong technical leader with a passion for building both products and people:
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or Engineering Team Lead
- Solid expertise in PHP, Symfony (or similar), and modern software architecture
- Strong understanding of microservices, domain-driven design, and scalable system design
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Git-based version control (GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivery and quality

What You’ll be doing
- As a Team Lead, you will combine strong technical expertise with people leadership to drive both delivery and team growth:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration
- Own the delivery of key products and features, ensuring quality, scalability, and reliability
- Guide the team in building robust, modern systems using microservices architecture and best engineering practices
- Drive continuous improvement by refining development processes and introducing efficiencies
Reference Number for this position is GZ61484 which is a permanent Hybrid position based in Observatory Cape Town offering a salary of R1.2m per annum, negotiable based on experience and ability.
