## Job Description

About The Role

- We’re looking for a Senior Learning Officer who will provide leadership in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of learning and capacity development programmes at EIDU. The role will drive high-quality, evidence-informed approaches that strengthen teaching and learning outcomes at scale while ensuring alignment with Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

### Responsibilities

Learning Strategy & Programme Design

- Lead the design and implementation of learning and capacity development strategies aligned with CBC and structured pedagogy approaches.

- Develop scalable and sustainable training models for government officers, teachers, and internal teams.

- Design and oversee blended learning approaches (face-to-face, digital, and coaching-based).

- Ensure alignment with national programmes such as Tayari and Tusome.

Content Development & Instructional Design

- Lead the design, review and quality assurance of training curricula, facilitator guides, digital content, and toolkits.

- Oversee development of instructional materials for pre-primary and primary interventions.

- Ensure all learning resources are current, evidence-based, and aligned with CBC requirements.

- Develop self-directed learning resources for government stakeholders and internal teams

Capacity Strengthening & Training Delivery

- Support the design, coordination and continuous improvement of quality assurance frameworks and processes to ensure high-quality, consistent, and effective training delivery across all levels of the implementation cascade.

- Design and deliver Master Trainers training for all the interventions programmes at EIDU.

- Strengthen coaching and mentoring frameworks to support classroom practice.

- Conduct capacity needs assessments and tailor interventions accordingly.

- Promote reflective practice and continuous professional development among the field teams and government stakeholders.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

- Lead analysis of training and programme data to inform strategic decisions.

- Support development of dashboards and tools to track training effectiveness and impact.

- Document and disseminate lessons learned, best practices, and innovations.

- Produce high-quality technical reports and learning briefs.

- Conduct field visits to support instructional quality and programme improvement.

- Strengthen data use culture across learning programmes.

Digital Learning & Innovation

- Provide pedagogical leadership in the development of digital learning platforms.

- Contribute to instructional design of digital tools and features.

- Support integration of e-learning and digital coaching solutions.

- Ensure digital tools are user-friendly, context-appropriate, and scalable.

Pilots, Research & Learning for Programme Design

- Lead the design and implementation of pilot programs to test and refine learning approaches, tools & interventions.

- Develop pilot frameworks, including clear objectives, methodologies, timelines, and data collection strategies.

- Provide oversight and coordination of pilot activities in collaboration with field teams, schools, and government stakeholders.

- Ensure rigorous collection of qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., classroom observations, surveys, user analytics, feedback loops).

- Lead analysis and interpretation of pilot data to generate actionable insights and inform programme decisions.

- Synthesize and communicate pilot findings, lessons learned, and recommendations through high-quality reports and briefs.

- Drive the adaptation and improvement of training materials, instructional design, and programme models based on evidence from pilots.

- Integrate research findings and global best practices in foundational learning and structured pedagogy into programme design.

- Contribute to building an organisational culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous learning.

### Qualifications

You have;

- The desire to use your skills to bring about positive social change.

- Bachelor’s degree in Education with English or Mathematics specialization. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

- 6+ years’ experience in education programme design and implementation.

- At least 5 years’ experience in teacher training, coaching, or instructional leadership.

- Experience in structured pedagogy programmes (e.g., Tayari, Tusome, Kenya Primary Literacy Program (KPLP) is an added advantage.

- Deep understanding of CBC implementation in Kenya.

- Proven expertise in adult learning and capacity development.

- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and programme management skills.

- Great interpersonal skills to collaborate with people at all levels of the organisation and from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Interested in contributing to others’ success.

- Ability to work in a start-up environment navigating complex and fast-changing circumstances.

- Highly organised person with strong attention to detail.

- Ability to work reliably and have end-to-end project ownership.
