Barloworld Equipment provides total solutions in earthmoving equipment, materials handling, power systems and related equipment in 10 countries in Southern Africa. As the appointed Caterpillar dealer in the region, Barloworld Equipment supplies equipment, parts and service to customers in the mining, construction, handling, agricultural and energy industries.

Barloworld Equipment Zambia Limited is looking for suitably qualified individuals based on the requirements stated below to apply for the position of: SENIOR HUMAN CAPITAL PRACTITIONER

Job Purpose

To manage the employee lifecycle, support organizational goals, and ensure a productive, compliant, and positive workplace.

Key Outputs (include but are not limited to)

• Ensuring that all key Human Resource operational processes are delivered successfully to the business including pay run input and reconciliation, recruitment, and all other cyclical activities Interpreting, advising on, and ensuring compliance with relevant Human Resources policies, ethical and legal requirements. Contributing to the review and update of Human Resources policies and procedures in consultation with employees and line managers and educating and coaching line managers on such matters.
• Assisting line managers in Employee Relations and Organizational design standards.
• Assisting employees in relation to new and existing Human Resources policies and procedures
• Ensuring that employee data is accurate and correct at all times ensuring that all is in line with the government requirements
• Collating and managing data for the document submissions
• Preparation of data for statutory reporting and approvals i.e. overtime exemption
• Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with line managers and employees.
• Ensuring Corporate and HR Governance are adhered to and applied.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field.
• Masters in HRM will be an added advantage
• 5+ years’ experience in a human capital role covering the above key focus areas.

Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and labour legislation track metrics (turnover rates, time-to-hire), make fair decisions without bias

• Demonstrated experience in payroll administration and remuneration frameworks
• Proficiency in HR and payroll systems

Skills

• Excellent communication, consultation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
• Exposure to Union Management, an added advantage
• Member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
