## Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience to design, build, and maintain robust ETL pipelines, data models, and backend systems that support scalable analytics and business intelligence. You will work end-to-end on projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the evolution of our data architecture.

Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize ETL pipelines and backend data solutions.Write clean, maintainable code in Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and modelling.Build and maintain data infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.Implement containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.Integrate and manage RESTful APIs for data processing and service connectivity.Apply CI/CD workflows and version control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) to ensure deployment quality.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.Familiarity with AI concepts and prompt engineering is a plus.Qualifications and experience: 
7+ years of professional experience as a data engineer or similar role.Advanced proficiency in Python for backend development and scripting.Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience in relational databases.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Hands-on with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and integration best practices.Experience with version control and CI/CD workflows.Strong grasp of SDLC principles and clean, maintainable code.Demonstrated ability to own projects end-to-end and work independently.The reference number for this position is NG60844 which is a permanent, Hybrid role offering a salary of up to R1.08mil per hour salary negotiable based on experience.
