## Job Description

Job Summary: To support the Head, Credit Analysis and Approvals in the day-to-day management of an assigned portfolio and provide credit analysis and underwriting of corporate credit applications, and support relationship managers in structuring transactions to align with the bank’s credit policy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial (40%)Underwrite and submit credit proposals in conformity with Credit Policy guidelines and requirements in liaison with the Relationship Manager and to maintain a high standard of credit analysis.Collect and analyze vital client data, such as annual reports, management accounts, interim reports, and press information, to gain in-depth knowledge that will support a comprehensive review of assigned account relationships.Compile and review account statistics and other relevant financial information on facilities during appraisal and ensure that the information provided is accurately completed and that the relevant remarks are incorporated in the credit proposal.Review all existing client facilities on time.Prepare requests for the New Business Committee (NBC) and prepare minutes during the meetings.Monitor covenants by maintaining an up-to-date covenants tracker, share breaches with stakeholders, enforce breach penalties, and prepare reports on covenants for decision-making.Prepare requested reports for information purposes and for key insights into credit risk matters.Internal Processes (30%)Review of draft offer letters received from credit operations in line with approval terms and conditions.Review valuation reports submitted by Credit Operations and advise on any discrepancies and corrections that should be made.Participate in the review of the credit risk policy, product papers, and processes, and make recommendations on improving them.Support and upskill Retail and SME Credit Analysts to enhance their skills in analysis.Accompany the RM on client visits and file call reports.Attend expeditiously to queries / routine correspondence generally emanating from Clients, Credit Administration, Risk Control, branches, and customers.Make recommendations for existing and prospective customers under the various loan products and submit to the appropriate final authority within established turnaround timeProvide an interface between the bank, existing, and prospective customers to maintain good customer relations, and to meet customer needs within the strategic objective of the bank.Prepare excess requests/notifications for all excesses and follow up for sanctions by approving authorities.Monitor performance of accounts daily to ensure operations within the approved limits.Customer (20%)Build and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of staff to ensure effective problem and issue resolution.Develop a strong team spirit and uphold the bank’s valuesTurnaround time standards or benchmarks for decisions on credit applications, i.e., Service Level Agreement (SLA) / Turn-Around Time (TAT) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) benchmarksLearning and Growth (10%)Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending and contributing to training programmes, educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional structures & studiesBe self-driven and directed. Build excellence in coaching, problem-solving, Presentation, communication, and writing skills.Provide constructive leadership, coaching, and advice to any assigned reportees.Implementation of change for improvement in credit management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Any Degree from a recognized university
Credit Management, Accounting, or Banking Qualification
