## Job Description

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations seeks a Senior Agricultural Officer (Plant Production and Protection) for its Regional Office for Africa in Accra. This P-5 staff position provides regional technical leadership on sustainable cropping systems, seed systems, agronomy, plant health and integrated pest management. The officer will lead policy and programme work, advise member countries, strengthen partnerships and capacity, support innovation including digital agriculture, and help mobilize resources. ## Requirements

Master’s degree or equivalent in agronomy, plant science with a seed science, crop improvement or related specialization. Ten years of relevant work with public or private institutions or international organizations, particularly in seeds and plant genetic resources and related policies. Working proficiency in English and intermediate proficiency in another official FAO language. Experience in more than one location or field setting, policy analysis, plant protection programmes, partnership building and resource mobilization.
